My copywriting process

  • First intro’s where you get to tell me what you need, and I get to share with you how I can help. It needs to be a solid fit for all of us.

  • Based on the brief laid out in the exploration discussion, I’ll put together a SOW and send that over to you. Once you sign, we can move on to the next step.

  • I get to meet all the talented people you have on your team, and collect all the relevant data and files. You might find this a good time to introduce me to the team as their copywriter. This ensures we’re all on the same page.

  • You may have some of this covered as part of your brand development. I’ll see if there is a need to conduct my own interviews and make those happen.

  • If this is part of the scope of work, I’ll set up a survey to begin gleaning key insights into your audience in real-time.

  • You may have shared some market research with me at earlier stages in the process, but you want fresh market insights, I’ll conduct online competitor analysis and voice-of-customer data mining for those unique pieces of copy.

  • Time to share what I’ve discovered, and my recommendations on how to position your messaging to your target audience.

  • Now, I write.

  • We’ll review your copy together. One round of revisions is included in every project.

  • Once your copy is approved, it will get a final professional proofread and then … that’s a wrap!
